We believe Haitian coffee is more than a product; it is an agricultural heritage, a source of national pride, and a pathway to renewed economic opportunity. Grown in Haiti’s mountainous regions, our specialty Arabica coffee flourishes under natural forest shade.
What Makes Zile Vèt Different

Our foundation was laid in Baradères around 1850 by Néomie Pellier (born in 1834), lovingly remembered as Gran Vévé. Guided by mastery, integrity, and quiet strength, she planted more than coffee she created a tradition rooted in dignity and honor.

The Haitian Coffee Story Behind Zile Vèt
A family tradition that began generations ago
The legacy of Gran Vévé passed to her daughter, Marie Pellier Andris, and later to Lumena Andris Bourjolly, who carried it forward with vision and strength. Lumena elevated the family enterprise through fair prices, uncompromising honesty, and deep respect for the farmers of Baradères. She transformed coffee into a symbol of justice, pride, and community.
Coffee, land, and identity passed through time
Alongside her husband, Weber Kersaint, Lumena extended the family’s work beyond its native hills, turning local craftsmanship into an export tradition that reached Europe. Their son, Michel Kersaint, preserved and modernized this heritage, ensuring its continuity across generations.

Honoring the people and values behind the legacy
Though the family enterprise was lost in the devastation of the January 12, 2010 earthquake, its spirit endured. Today, Edwine Kersaint Victor-Louis—heir to the Pellier, Andris, Bourjolly, and Kersaint lineages—revives this ancestral legacy.
